Welcome to ConneXus eMentoring!
If you are a student member who needs the advice of an experienced professional in your field of interest to help guide you through your tertiary institution years to your first job, the ementoring programme is for you.

About eMentoring

eMentoring is accessible to ConneXus members-only. Participating in this mentoring programme can give you an insight and also an opportunity to interact with experienced professionals in a chosen or related field. Each mentoring experience is unqiue and one that you can learn and grow from.

You can ask career questions, get a perspective on the day-to-day issues you may face in the workplace, and learn about different career options and more. It depends on your own individual needs. A mentor can help you get the right training, find the right niche or introduce you to a non-traditional career path. It could also help you to transition more easily into the working world or change fields. eMentoring transcends geographic boundaries and time constraints you can meet online anytime, even if you are in different time zones or countries.

eMentoring Objectives


(i) To provide a guided mentoring relationship between experienced
professionals and our Indian youth with a view towards enhancing the
latter's social and professional development.

(ii) To facilitate an exchange of information and knowledge for the
benefit of our Indian youth through informal interaction over the
Internet.

About Our Mentors

The mentors in our ementoring database are working professionals in various fields, including Aeronautics, Engineering, Entrepreneurship, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Information Technology, Law and Medicine.

Our mentors also work for companies like Singapore Technologies Aerospace, Toa Payoh Hospital, Allen & Gledhill, Temasek Holdings, Ritz Carlton, Holiday Inn Parkview, etc.

Mentors and Mentees are surveyed annually to see if they are interested in continuing their participation. At the same time, we have new mentors signing up continuously.

  eMatching Process

Mentors provide information regarding their work experience, interests, and areas of expertise. That biography, without the contact information, is posted online.

As a Student Mentee you would…

  1. First, sign up as a member of ConneXus Portal. 
  2. Complete the form "Looking for a Mentor" on ConneXus eMentoring Portal.
  3.  Indicate your expectations of the program in Chit Chat after logging in as a member.

The ConneXus administrator then confirms your active membership and begins the matching process. Both mentor and mentee are contacted via email regarding the matching. Names and email addresses are shared. Additional background information is up to you and your mentor to decide to share. If you wish to exchange information by phone or in person that is entirely up to you and your mentor.

Once you have been matched with a mentor, he/she will be your mentor until either of you decide to dissolve the relationship or it's time to renew your ConneXus eMentoring participation. Remember this takes place annually.

Getting Started

As soon as you receive your mentor(s) contact information, please

  1. Contact your mentor to introduce yourself. Tell them a bit about yourself and background. Let them know why you are participating in the program and what you think you need to be a successful professional. Remember that mentors volunteer to help and expect regular contact with you. Don't worry if it seems awkward and stilted at first. As you become comfortable together, communication will become easier.
  2. We ask that you try to contact your mentor on a consistent schedule (i.e. weekly, biweekly, or monthly). Discuss with your mentor the frequency that will work best for you both.
  3. If you choose to dissolve the relationship at anytime before the renewal period, be courteous and inform both your mentor and the ConneXus eMentoring Coordinator so that we can update the availability of the mentor and match him/her with another mentee.
